Case details:
Ellis was taken to Meridian, Mississippi by a friend on June 2nd, 2023, to be admitted for inpatient mental health treatment. Upon arrival, Ellis had a manic episode and fled the hospital on foot. The friend ended up leaving Meridian and headed back to Alabama, where Weldon-Ellis is from. Ellis’s family called and spoke with a sergeant on scene that evening who stated they would call an ambulance and she would likely be transported to Jackson, Mississippi for mental health treatment.
Months later, when Ellis had not returned to her Prattville, Alabama home, her family began looking for her. They contacted the ambulance company, who stated that they did not pick Ellis up on June 2nd. They have been unable to locate Ellis despite contacting facilities in both Meridian and Jackson. Family is concerned for Ellis’s wellbeing as she has a history of mental health treatment for Schizophrenia and suicidal ideations. She did not have her medication with her when she disappeared.
A woman came forward and stated that she helps people and assisted Weldon-Ellis in obtaining a Mississippi License. She claims she then took Weldon-Ellis to the train station so that she could go stay with family in Tennessee; however, Weldon-Ellis does not have family in Tennessee. The woman has cut off all contact with Weldon-ellis’s family. Her family has been trying to report her missing but has been unsuccessful, as they live in Alabama and she was last seen in Mississippi. Family has had no luck attempting to file a missing person report with Meridian Police Department at this time.
