case details:

Phinizee was last seen at approximately noon on October 12, 2007, at the Fillimore Center Alternative School where she worked as a security guard. She was dropping someone off and has not been seen or heard from since.

The vehicle she was last seen driving, a 2005 Pontiac Grand Am, was found that evening at Warfield Apartments on Jackson Street in Tupelo, Mississippi. Witnesses saw the car speed into the parking lot and park. A black male exited the vehicle wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans. Upon exiting, the man ran behind the apartments where there was a field and a small storage unit.

When Phinizee did not pick her children up from her sister’s home, her sister reported her missing. Police went to her home and noted that the bedsheets on the bed in the Master bedroom were gone. Her husband, Robert Phinizee, said that the last time he saw her was around 6:00 a.m. that morning and that she likely ran off with her boyfriend. He claimed the sheets were removed after their child wet the bed. The missing sheets have never been located.

Phinizee and her husband were separated at the time of her disappearance. She was dating another man. Her family stated she would not have left her children behind under any circumstance.

The day after Phinizee’s disappearance, Robert moved away from Tupelo, Mississippi with their children. He later remarried. In 2002, he was charged with attempted murder after shooting his estranged wife. The two were in the process of a divorce at the time.

Robert has always been the main suspect in Phinizee’s disappearance; however, he has never faced any charges. Phinizee’s case remains unsolved at this time.
