Case Details:

Rodgers was last seen by his mother at around 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 11th, 1996. At the time, Rodgers was walking near the office of the Dan Stepney Apartments on Harrison Jefferson Road in the Lampton community of Marion County. Rodgers’ mother was in a vehicle with a friend leaving the Dan Stepney Apartments when they saw Rodgers walking and pulled up beside him to speak with him. He told his mother he was going to visit his uncle, got a cigarette from his mother’s friend, and he continued walking while his mother and her friend pulled away. Rodgers, who was expected home later that evening, did not return, which was concerning to his mother. A friend of Rodgers’ continued to come by the apartment asking about his whereabouts. This prompted his mother to report him missing shortly after.

Rodgers lived at the Dan Stepney Apartments with his mother and four siblings. He is the oldest of five children, had a wife, and a 6-month-old son at the time of his disappearance. His mother does not feel that he would leave them without explanation for any reason. Rodgers and his family had moved to Marion County from Indiana just a year prior to him becoming missing.

Searches were carried out after Rodgers’ disappearance; however, no leads led to his whereabouts. His mother heard rumors that Rodgers won a dice game and was beaten to death. Investigators who worked Rodgers’ case in the early 2000s stated they did believe foul play was involved in his case.

Rodgers has not been seen or heard from since. His case remains unsolved at this time.
