Case details

King was last seen on the morning of Friday, September 20, 2024, at Springfield Baptist Church in Morton, Mississippi. A call for a break in at the church came in to Scott County Dispatch and a Constable who lived near the church responded. The pastor of the church did not want to press charges at the time, so King was placed in handcuffs and left at the church while the Constable attempted to make contact with King’s family. He went to the home King shared with his family to tell them to go to the churc. The Scott County Sheriff’s department responded to the church; however, this is where information becomes unclear. Deputies state that King fled the scene. Searches of the area were performed the following day with dogs and on foot. Authorities state that they were unable to continue searching due to the canines losing scent. King lived only four miles from the location he is said to have fled from. His family believes that he would have attempted to make his way back home; however, he has not returned nor made contact with them. King’s home was also searched by law enforcement after his disappearance. The Sheriff’s department has not clarified whether or not King is “wanted” or if he is missing; however, no BOLO for a fugitive or a missing person has ever been provided to the public. King has not been seen or heard from since. His family is concerned for his welfare as He was handcuffed behind his back at the time of his disappearance.
