Callens was last seen at a convenience store located at 3107 Highway 72 West in Corinth, Mississippi, at around 5:40 a.m. on January 7th, 2025. At the time, Callens was not properly dressed to keep warm in the cold weather conditions the area was having that morning, so the store clerk gave him a jacket and t-shirt. Callens put the jacket on and tried to wrap the shirt around his legs. While in the store, the clerk also charged his phone for about ten minutes. Callens then left the store walking.
Callens was at a residence on Mathis Road where his girlfriend lived. It is alleged he and his girlfriend got into an argument before he left on foot and arrived at the gas station a short time later. Callens was scheduled to meet family to go duck hunting that morning and did not show up. His vehicle was found still parked at the residence on Mathis Road. When he did not show up for the hunt, his brother attempted to contact him but was unsuccessful. Callens was reported missing less than 24 hours after he was last seen.
Due to the low temperatures, searches were conducted by both law enforcement and civilians within the day. Those searches carried out for several days but no sign of Callens has been found. He remains missing at this time.
