Case Details

On Thursday, September 30th, 1976, McDonald was found to be unaccounted for and is believed to have walked away from the Glen Oaks Nursing Home in Lucedale, Mississippi. Law enforcement was notified and immediately began searching the area for McDonald. National Guardsmen in helicopters, Mississippi Highway Patrolmen, George County Sheriff’s Department, and George County Search and Rescue spent over 400 man hours searching woods, fields, and bodies of water for McDonald. No sign of him was found during those searches. On October 18th, 1976, the searches were called off.

McDonald’s wife passed away shortly before he went to live at Glen Oaks. His health began to decline, so his daughters thought it would be best to have him live there so that he could have around the clock care and supervision. Both daughters have now passed away. McDonald has never been found.
